Talkeetna Air Taxi's history reaches back to the early flying days of Alaska. It was founded in 1947 by Don Sheldon who pioneered high altitude glacier landings and rescues in the Alaska Range. Fifty years later TAT has broadened the meaning of expedition support for climbers to include: logistical support, up-to-date route information and photos, unique base camp locations, mid-climb route checks, remote and unclimbed peak information. TAT holds a special concession for glacier landing operations in Denali National Park.
